The Story

Description

This optical sensor provides raw red and infrared (IR) light reflection values for developers and researchers aiming to build their own algorithms for oxygen saturation (SpO₂) or related physiological metrics.

Unlike standard SpO₂ sensors, this device does not compute oxygen saturation values directly instead provides the raw sensor output. This enables custom algorithm development in domains requiring high-fidelity optical biosignal data.

Applications span biomedical studies, algorithm prototyping, wearable research, psychophysiology, and more.

Compatibility: This sensor requires a biosignalsplux data acquisition system to function, which is sold separately.

Highlights

  • Raw Optical Data Output: Provides unprocessed red & IR reflection data for algorithm development.

  • Flexible Research Use: Finger Clip version for traditional setups; Versatile version for exploratory sensor placements.

  • Multi-Modal Research Ready: Fully compatible with all biosignalsplux acquisition systems and combinable with other biosignalsplux sensors.

  • Developer-Focused: Ideal for researchers building proprietary or experimental SpO₂ algorithms.

Specifications

  • Dual LED Design: 1 red & 1 infrared LED
  • Red LED wavelength: 660nm
  • Infrared LED wavelength: 950nm
  • Detector Sensitivity: 400nm-1100nm (max@920nm)
  • Resolution: 16-bit
  • Sampling Frequency: 500Hz
  • Cable Length: 100cm±0.5cm (customizable; extra costs may apply)
  • Connector Type: UC-E6 (male; must be connected to a biosignalsplux acquisition unit)
